NETWORKING IN THE DIGITAL ERA

In the last few years our means of communication have known a revolution, and in the means of a time we conspicuously lack, I draw from what personal experience as Pitching & Storytelling Coach has allowed me to elaborate as a new characterization to define what is a pitch. Generally, it is said that a pitch is a presentation, an oral, brief, clear and concise way to sell a project. From a new perspective that competes with the theme that I want to talk to you about today. A pitch has to be intelligent and strategic to build a healthy network using the new technologies.
Before we start, it’s important to demystify certain concepts, in the context and conjuncture of the countries where our industry is based, no project is “sold in the pitch”, which means, this is not the best way to do it. Immediately after a pitch, there is no contract on the table, no transaction for your project. The pitch as we’ve just described only takes place in the USA, where the Hollywoodian industry allows producers with development funds to acquire a project and take it further. For those who live in Europe and Latin America, the pitch functions as career management. Networking is the key to an optimized project presentation in festivals and markets.
