Matias is a graduate from the Cinema Institute of Madrid in scriptwriting and direction (2015), which he completed in the International School of Cinema and Television of Cuba (EICTV)

He’s worked in various series, he’s worked as a screenwriter for daily series like “Centro Médico” (Zeta Productions) and currently, in “Servir y Proteger” (Plano a Plano). In addition, he works with other production companies and TV Chains to develop content.

Last year his project Umbra Dei was selected in Madrid Online Pitchbox and is presently developing other personal projects.

Matías left us with numerous tips and information he’s built on from experience. This is what he had to say:

THE SALES DOCUMENTS

The way of sales has changed. Years prior, you were immediately asked to see everything about your project. Now, the supply is much more elevated than the demand. Therefore as screenwriters we must aim to make it easier for the producer. Additionally, the sales documents have become much more visual than before — compare the bibles of the Wire to that of Stranger Things to what you are now required to do, and notice the evolution.
