The selected projects for March’s Projects of the Month
Last week we had the fantastic opportunity to discover the selected projects for the March Projects of the Month. As you know, this monthly call is exclusive to Full Access subscribers. Each month two series and two feature films in Spanish and English are selected to join Filmarket Hub’s online catalogue.
The event was once again hosted by Marta Serrán, our market coordinator who was able to talk to each of the winners about their respective projects.
BEST SERIES IN ENGLISH––‘THE AGE OF DESIRE’ (USA)
The project consists of a season of six hour-long episodes. It is about the difficult life of Sophia Heller, a 25-year-old Jewish immigrant who sings opera on the street until she meets businessman Arthur McCall, who falls in love with her and commits to launching her career as a singer. However, circumstances go awry when Sophia discovers Arthur’s aggressive and manipulative nature. Everything comes to a head when Emmeline Rousell appears, a dancer who is Sophia’s former lover. She will have to defend herself from Arthur’s clutches, even risking her life to escape the hostile world where she finds herself. A story of love, intrigue…
